  • 2 large eggs
  • Avocado oil spray
For the Bang Bang Sauce
  • 1/2 cup 120ml mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup 60ml sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp 30ml Frank’s RedHot
  • 1 tbsp 15ml honey
  • 1 tsp 5ml lime juice

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Whisk
  • Tongs
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Paper Towels
  • Cooking Spray
  • Instant-Read Thermometer
  • Shallow Coating Bowl

Method

  1. Pat the shrimp completely dry using paper towels.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (204°C) for 5 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, combine cornstarch, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Whisk eggs in a separate bowl.
  5. Dip each shrimp into the egg mixture, then coat evenly in the cornstarch mixture.
  6. Arrange shrimp in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd.
  7. Spray lightly with avocado oil.
  8. Air fry for 4 minutes. Flip shrimp, spray lightly again, and cook another 3–5 minutes until golden and crispy.
  9. In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Frank’s RedHot, honey, and lime juice.
  10. Toss shrimp lightly in the sauce just before serving.

Notes

- Cornstarch creates a crispier coating than flour.
- Avoid overcrowding the basket.
- Serve immediately for maximum crunch.
